🎵 VOA COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL IS STAYING IN BUTLER COUNTY
The Voices of America Country Music Festival has a new home.
The festival will move from Voice of America MetroPark in West Chester to the Butler County Fairgrounds in Hamilton for 2027.
The three-day festival is scheduled for August 5–7, 2027.
The move follows West Chester Township’s decision not to continue hosting the festival. The good news for Butler County: the event isn’t leaving the county, and organizers say the new location could create additional opportunities for tourism, local businesses and even camping at the festival.
⚾ HAMILTON WEST SIDE MAKES BUTLER COUNTY PROUD
What a run for Hamilton West Side Little League!
West Side advanced all the way to the United States Championship Game at the Little League World Series before falling to Nevada.
Hamilton then faced Japan in the third-place game and carried a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning before Japan rallied for a 3-2 victory.
Regardless of the ending, West Side once again put Hamilton and Butler County on an international stage. Congratulations to the players, coaches and families on an incredible season!
💥 HEARING EXPLOSIONS IN MADISON TOWNSHIP? HERE'S WHY
Don't be alarmed if you hear loud explosions around Madison Township this week.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office is hosting specialized post-blast investigation training at its bomb range near Woodsdale MetroPark.
Controlled explosions are scheduled during the training, and residents in surrounding areas may hear several loud blasts.
Authorities say there is no danger to the public and residents don't need to take any action.
🚗 FATAL CRASH IN FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP
An 85-year-old man died following a Saturday afternoon crash on Millikin Road in Fairfield Township.
Police said vehicles were moving over for responding emergency vehicles when a Lincoln Navigator struck the rear of an Acura driven by 85-year-old Logan C. Stone.
Stone was transported to the hospital and later flown to UC Medical Center, where he died.
Two other people were hospitalized and reported in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
🏭 KOCH FOODS AGREES TO $167,000 IN OSHA FINES
There are new developments following the deadly February fire at the Koch Foods plant in Fairfield.
Federal workplace-safety investigators identified problems involving employee emergency training and evacuation procedures.
The February 15 fire killed 25-year-old Griffin Darrow and hospitalized two other employees.
OSHA originally proposed approximately $267,000 in penalties. Koch Foods ultimately reached a settlement reducing the amount to $167,000 and agreed to correct the identified safety violations.
🌽 COURT VICTORY FOR GARVER FAMILY FARM MARKET
A long-running zoning disagreement involving Garver Family Farm Market in Lemon Township took a major turn.
A Butler County judge dismissed the county's challenge involving the farm market.
The dispute centered on whether portions of the business, including food, coffee and wine service, went beyond what is permitted on agriculturally zoned property.
The Garver family has farmed in Lemon Township for generations.
🏈 LAKOTA WEST WINS THE BATTLE OF THE LAKOTAS
Lakota West picked up a big rivalry win Friday night, defeating Lakota East 48-18.
Senior running back Kenyon Norman had a huge night, including touchdown runs of 72 and 75 yards.
East struck first, but West answered and eventually pulled away with a 27-point third quarter.
