Butler County Has a Missing Person Epidemic

Ronald Tammen, student missing since 1953 from Miami University.
Teddy Franks is listed as missing since 1986 however records show that he actually vanished in 1987. The Butler County Sheriff’s Office has not updated this since it was brought to their attention last year.
Cynthia Carmack has been missing since 1987 and is an alleged victim of serial killer Larry DeWayne Hall.
Lora Stubbs was due to go to her parent’s Hamilton home, she never arrived and was reported missing in 1996.
16 year old Leslie Bustos Sanchez disappeared from West Chester in 2009, she would be 29 years old today. There has been little media coverage and no law enforcement press releases regarding her disappearance.
William “Billy” DiSilvestro was reported missing in 2011 after failing to return from a Super Bowl party in Hamilton. There have been many rumors and false tips submitted to his case, including a recent tip that led to a police search of a Ross property.
Todd Mathis has been missing from Hamilton since 2014, his loved ones suspect foul play is involved. Todd was a new father at the time of his disappearance and his family says he would never leave his daughter behind.
Gary Barfield has been missing since 2016, his car was found abandoned on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee. A public records request discovered that Hamilton Police Department incorrectly spelled Barfield’s last name in his missing person report, requests for follow up have not been responded to.
Brandy English has been missing from Middletown since 2016 after cooperating with police regarding her friend Lindsay Bogan who went missing in 2015. Weeks after English disappeared, Bogan’s remains were recovered.
16 year old Manases Bernal De Paz has been missing since 2016 from West Chester, this is one of the multiple long term missing child cases open in Butler County.
Melinda Miller has been missing since 2017 from Middletown, she was friends with numerous other missing women from the area. Miller’s family has not felt supported by law enforcement.
Amber Flack, a cousin to Miller and friend to many of the other missing women has been missing since 2017. She was last seen in Middletown.
16 year old Gaspar Bernal Santigo has been missing since 2017 from Middletown.
Rigoberto Garcia, a business owner from Fairfield Township, has been missing since 2018. His work truck was found abandoned in Fairfield City near a job site.

Brooklynn Short was reported missing in 2019, her loved ones fear for her safety. Short is missing from Middletown.
Michael McKenney’s vehicle was found abandoned on the Preble County and Butler County line in Hueston Woods; he has been missing since May 2020.
Yosiah Stewart, 15, was reported missing in 2020 in Fairfield. Yosiah was in the custody of children’s services.
16 year old Keshawn Hambrick, another foster child in Fairfield, has been missing since 2020. There have been no press releases on any of the missing children by the Fairfield Police Department.
Allen Rethelford was 17 when he was listed as missing from Hamilton in 2020, there have been updates to his missing person page on the Ohio Attorney General’s website.
James Hutchinson has been missing since 2021 from Middletown. Two adults have been charged in relation to his death however his remains have not been recovered and he is still listed in the system as missing.
Kara Hyde, 23, has been missing from Hamilton since December 2021. Kara was last known to be seen on Grand Blvd, her family believes that foul play could be involved.
Curtis Kellums has been missing since April 2, 2022. He was last seen leaving Walmart on Main Street in Hamilton driving what is described as a light blue Ford Escape with license plate number OHIO DW77HM.
UPDATE: Curtis was located deceased on May 15, 2022.
