Trenton Fire Department Saves Cats After Family House Fire
On April 2, Trenton Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on the 300 block of Third Street, Trenton requested mutual aid from Madison Township Fire Department and St. Clair Township Fire Department.
Firefighter and EMT Brian Osborne was one of the first responders on the scene. “Before I entered the burning house, I noticed a cat on the front porch where we entered. The cat was crouched down, I attempted to grab it but it was fast, it tried to go back into the house, I basically chased it to where next door neighbors could get it. The other cat was found in the house after the fire was knocked down.” The cat inside was located after the fire was extinguished and was treated with high flow oxygen while a patient who was discovered outside was transported to a local hospital by Madison Township Fire Department.
According to the family, both cats and the victim transported to the hospital are all doing well. Trenton Firefighters Association is currently holding a fundraising raffle, for more details visit their Facebook page at facebook.com/TrentonFireAssociation.
