Butler County Ohio residents are fortunate to live close to one of the only two accredited botanical gardens in Ohio. In June 2021, USA Today 10Best editors announced the Cincinnati Zoo ranked at the top of the Best Zoo category. It also earned the top two rankings for the 10best Botanical Garden category.
“It’s wonderful to be recognized for being a great Zoo AND a great Botanical Garden,” said Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden director Thane Maynard. “
The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens also feature more than one million daffodils, hyacinths, flowering trees, shrubs, and other spring bulbs exploding with color. But the highlight of Spring is the massive tulip display. Boasting to have one of the largest displays of tulips in the Midwest, the tulip display is truly amazing! From the moment you arrive at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens the brilliant colors of Spring tulips are on display.
100,000 tulips bloom on the grounds of the Cincinnati Zoo every Spring. The colors and variety of tulips are just as impressive as the over 1800 animals the zoo staff cares for every day. Open daily 10 am - 5 pm, the Spring blooms are included with the regular admission. Check out their website for more details: www.cincinnatizoo.org
