A recent informal poll of Butler County residents found 68% concerned about privacy when it comes to Flock Safety license plate cameras, with only 25% expressing support in any form. The conversation has real weight behind it too. Hamilton just released a new procedure manual explaining how the city's automated license plate readers are used, stored, and accessed, a direct response to the same privacy questions residents have been raising.

🚗 Hidden Gem: The Salty Dog Museum, Shandon

🎪 A Bittersweet Final Weekend for VOA Country Music Fest

This weekend marked the last time the VOA Country Music Fest calls West Chester home. Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, and Blake Shelton headlined the four-day run, closing out August 6 through 9 at VOA MetroPark. West Chester Township confirmed earlier this month that the festival won't return, citing the toll the event's size takes on public safety resources and property. Four years, over 100,000 fans in its biggest year, and now a send-off.

💔 Homicide Investigation in Middletown

Police are investigating the death of 22-year-old Amonte Lee Holdbrooks as a homicide. Officers responded to a report of a man down near Greenfield Drive and Spring Grove Lane late Wednesday night. Holdbrooks was taken to Atrium Medical Center and later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital, where he died. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Connor Kirby at 513-425-7736.

💰 Reminder: Property Tax Deadline

Real estate taxes are due August 19, and manufactured home taxes are due August 17. Bills went out from the Butler County Treasurer's Office on July 20, so if yours hasn't turned up yet, it's worth a check.
