Butler County Has a Missing Person Epidemic

Melinda Miller has been missing since 2017 from Middletown, she was friends with numerous other missing women from the area. Miller’s family has not felt supported by law enforcement.
Amber Flack, a cousin to Miller and friend to many of the other missing women has been missing since 2017. She was last seen in Middletown.
16 year old Gaspar Bernal Santigo has been missing since 2017 from Middletown
Rigoberto Garcia, a business owner from Fairfield Township, has been missing since 2018. His work truck was found abandoned in Fairfield City near a job site.
Brooklynn Short was reported missing in 2019, her loved ones fear for her safety. Short is missing from Middletown.
Michael McKenney’s vehicle was found abandoned on the Preble County and Butler County line in Hueston Woods; he has been missing since May 2020.
Yosiah Stewart, 15, was reported missing in 2020 in Fairfield. Yosiah was in the custody of children’s services.
16 year old Keshawn Hambrick, another foster child in Fairfield, has been missing since 2020. There have been no press releases on any of the missing children by the Fairfield Police Department.
Allen Rethelford was 17 when he was listed as missing from Hamilton in 2020, there have been updates to his missing person page on the Ohio Attorney General’s website.
James Hutchinson has been missing since 2021 from Middletown. Two adults have been charged in relation to his death however his remains have not been recovered and he is still listed in the system as missing.
