Joseph's Legacy Names New President
June 6, 2022 at 8:02 a.m.
10 years after founding Joseph's Legacy Animal Rescue, Meg Melampy announces her retirement. Meg, an animal right advocate, turned her position of President to the hands of Krista Snyder Bolser, a Fairfield native who has worked with Joseph's Legacy for eight years.
Joseph's Legacy was created in honor of a German Shepherd, Joseph, who was brutally neglected and saved just in time from emaciated conditions. Joseph's Legacy has now helped thousands of animals on the brink of death, including dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, pigs, and others.
Krista's story with animal rescue started as a child when her grandmother taught her how to catch feral kittens, tame them while giving medical care, and eventually putting ads in local newspapers to find homes for the kittens. Krista's compassion grew, and after 8 years with Joseph's Legacy, Krista has fostered hundreds of animals and has saved the lives of thousands. Krista continues to inspire the community, even passing along her love of animal welfare to her children who have expressed interest in following Krista's footsteps. Joseph's Legacy has sponsored free pet food for those in need, emergency medical care and placement for at risk animals, and they have advocated for policy change and funding for animal rights.Joseph's Legacy is searching for fosters, volunteers, donations, and sponsors.
